Walk Worthy of the Lord

By jpmsingapore

Colossians 1:9-10. For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing…

What does it mean to walk worthy of the Lord? To walk worthy of the Lord means to walk worthy of who you are “in Christ”.

Have you ever observed royalty? They’re groomed from childhood to walk and talk in a certain manner. They don’t walk or talk like the rest of us. They have a regal bearing. You won’t find them slouching or shuffling along. Why? Because they’re royalty! And they’ve learned how to walk worthy of who they are. Walking worthy of their status in life does not make them royalty. Their royal status is determined by the family into which they were born.

Just so, you have been born into the family of the King of kings, the Lord Jesus Christ! You’re part of a royal priesthood. You are a child of the Most High God. You are “in Christ”! He made you worthy by shedding His blood for you and by giving you His name. That’s what makes you worthy. Now walk worthy of who you are “in Him”!

As you become filled with the knowledge of God’s will as revealed in His written word, you begin to discover your “royal” identity. You begin to find out who you really are, what you really have, and what you really can do “in Christ.” It pleases the Lord when we discover this!

Revelation knowledge of the truth makes you free. (John 8:32). His will is that you have life and have it more abundantly! (John 10:10). This knowledge causes you to be transformed into the image of His glory, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord! (2 Cor 3:18).
