Out of Great Trials Come Great Triumphs, Pt 2
That morning when I awoke in the midst of a great spiritual attack against one of our children, after having prayed the night before in other tongues, I began confessing that the Holy Spirit was leading me into all truth, especially the truth that Mary and I needed in order to know how to pray about this situation!
I confessed that the Holy Spirit was leading me into the very word from God that I needed in order to pray effectively.
I began listening to “The Believer’s Authority” by Kenneth E. Hagin on my Ipod. As he talked about praying the Ephesians prayers, I stopped the Ipod and began to do that, but after just the first few phrases I stopped and began to say over and over to myself, “a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus.”
I decided to add praise to my prayer and began to praise God and to thank Him for giving to Mary and to me and to our son a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus. Over and over I said this.
For a long while, I felt nothing, except badly! I was “on empty” and I felt dry, fearful, helpless, and hopeless – but I kept on praising.
As I continued doing this, however, revelation began to come! Joy began to flood my being. In the midst of the storm I actually began to laugh with GENUINE LAUGHTER at the enemy and his strategies against us! Victory began rising up within my spirit! And it was not long after that that the breakthrough came! Hallelujah!
Stay with the Word, no matter what. Keep it in your heart and in your mouth. Get your eyes off the problem and onto Jesus.
Like the children of Israel who told the Lord, when the children of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir came against them, that they had no might against the great company coming against them, nor did they know what to do, but, they said, “our eyes are upon Thee.” (2 Chron 20:12).
That’s what you have to do when the pressure is on. Get your eyes off the circumstances and the situation, and get them on the Word!
